Blue sharks are the most abundant of the large sharks in the world. They are very pretty sharks and even though they have attacked humans before they are rather timid and would rather keep their distance from humans. These sharks are not commercially hunted, but are often caught when people are fishing for tuna and swordfish and are then fined or landed and not put back in the ocean like they should be! These sharks are named for their blue color. Blue sharks are not in huge risk of over fishing, but something should be done to help them.
These sharks grow up to 12.5 feet long and can up up to 9-12 pups. These sharks are not overly dangerous to humans.
