Hunting Sharks. (this is written from a vegan's perspective, you may or may no agree with my personal opinions)
Shark are hunted for many reasons. Most of the time they are hunted for sport or food.
Hunting sharks for food.
Sharks are hunted for food all around the world. The most common use of shark meat is in shark fin soup. As the name suggests shark fin soup is made with shark fins. From a real shark. A real shark that was once alive.
Sharks are brought to land to be finned*. Then people come to the sharks and saw their fins off. With saws. And not always clean saws. Anyway, back to the point, these sharks are sent splashing into the water. And as we all know, fish need fins to swim, and most (not all) sharks need to swim to breath, well you get the point. Breathing is kind of important to living. All of these sharks die.
Landing sharks.
Landing sharks, that my sound weird to some people. But landing sharks is not weird, it's just plain rude, not to mention painful for sharks.
Landing is a thing that people do to sharks that are caught when fishing for other fish, like tuna (really, tuna just came to mind). Now as you all know fish can only breath when in the water. So when sharks are landed they can not breath and they die.
Sport Shark Fishing.
As we all know people have hunted animals for sport for a long time. Bear and deer heads hanging from walls, that is an example of sport hunting. But with sharks there is a different way of showing that you have caught a shark. The jaws. Shark jaws are highly prized by fishermen and hunters. These jaws come from sharks. The jaws are cut of the sharks head with a knife and cleaned of and put on you book shelve for display.
* Finned is a word that means have fins cut off of nice cute fish, mostly sharks.
